Professional Gamers League,
Inc. was incorporated on January 11th 2008.
The company's first patents were filed in April 2005 and
a continuation of that patent was filed in November
2007. All the company's trademarks were allowed by the
United States Patent and Trademark Office and are
currently pending issuance. International patents
are also pending.
The inventor, Gary Weingardt, who had no experience in
the video game or web server industries, met Dana
Garvey, who has vast experience in both, through a
stroke of luck. They immediately started a business
relationship and began developing the website, software,
and business model to implement the technology described
in the patents for worldwide expansion of the system.
When Mr. Garvey
came on-board, he also brought on Travis N. Howle as the
company's Chief Technical Officer.
Travis single handedly developed and implemented all the
systems' software applications (including our VGTOC
Mobile system) and background system controllers within
seven weeks and he loved every minute of it.
During the process of development, a
totally unique and custom written .NET solution,
including extensive database architecture and
controlling applications was created into what you now
see as the Video Game Tournament of Champions™.
The three people mentioned here are the
core of Professional Gamers League, Inc.
